About Us
Our background
Newark Area Special Olympics was formerly called Licking County Special Olympics. The name change occurred in 2019. This local program is not-for-profit local organization existing under Special Olympics Ohio. We are run entirely by volunteers; mostly parents of neurodiverse individuals. All of our sports and services are offered to athletes free of charge. We therefore depend on the community for financial gifts and support and fundraising.
